Australian winemakers are facing a “hellishly tough time” after new Chinese tariffs, Trade Minister Simon Birmingham warns.
The Morrison government is considering launching action with the independent umpire – a process that could take years – after temporary penalties were imposed as part of an anti-dumping investigation into Aussie wine.
Senator Birmingham said it was working with the wine industry to overturn the “unfair and unjustified” tariffs.
“If you back a rules-based system that means you ought to call out when the rules are being broken and call in the independent umpire,” he told Sky News. Read more…..
