Protests in Thailand continued for a fifth straight day on Sunday October 18, 2020. Thousands of demonstrators defied a ban on gatherings to take over streets in the capital Bangkok and in at least a dozen provinces. Since March, Thai protesters have been calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, a more democratic constitution and for reform of the monarchy.
