When one of the world’s leading Epidemiologists publically advises that a treatment for a supposedly deadly pandemic is CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, but is being restricted for political gamesmanship, it would be reasonable to wonder if the irreversible decay of society is well under way. The title of this article is not intended to be click-bait, although the preposterous basis of the claim, is in fact entirely true, and shocking to the core. As we look further into this matter, the possibility of truly sick political point-scoring over-riding the ability to save thousands of lives becomes increasingly clear. Surely this cannot be true? Can it? In this day and age, with the influence of the Swamp-Creatures seemingly unwavering and possibly increasing as the US Elections approach, one can only wonder.
Professor Harvey A Risch, a Professor of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, one of the world’s most highly regarded medical research and learning institutions, has just blown the lid off what is quickly becoming regarded as a public policy farce, albeit diabolical in nature and clearly politically motivated. As professor of epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health, Prof. Risch has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and currently holds senior positions on the editorial boards of several leading journals. He finds himself truly agog at the fact that amidst a supposed global pandemic, he is fighting against the tide to have a PROVEN treatment made available to the public. As Prof. Risch terrifyingly outlines “I am fighting for a treatment that the data fully support but which, for reasons having nothing to do with a correct understanding of the science, has been pushed to the sidelines. As a result, tens of thousands of patients with COVID-19 are dying unnecessarily. Fortunately, the situation can be reversed easily and quickly.”
Prof. Risch is of course referring to the use of the widely available medication, hydroxychloroquine. Keen readers of Icarus will be reminded of an earlier piece we wrote, The Silenced Minority and Their Crazy Theories Covid Ain’t Real outlining the vocal cohort of US medical professionals calling themselves “America’s Frontline Doctors” who in general terms, espoused the exact same proposal as Yale’s Prof. Risch. Sadly, readers will note that we suggested: “many have suggested that readers take the opportunity to watch it before the ‘fake news’ police determine that the blasphemous, cretinous and uneducated bobble-heads contained within the video must be silenced and removed from public record.”
Well, low and behold, what do you know……..“This video has been removed for violating YouTube’s Terms of Service”. Further, it was reported by Tucker Carlson and a range of other news outlets, that one of the movement’s featured Doctors, Dr Simone Gold was promptly fired from her job as an Emergency Doctor, treating COVID patients successfully with the treatment suggested by her colleagues and subsequently Prof. Risch.
After almost 3 decades of service to the medical profession, and having spent the past few months in the midst of treating patients who have fallen victim to a global pandemic, Dr Gold has allegedly been fired from her role for taking part in the America’s Frontline Doctors conference. Ironically, it should be noted that the entire basis of the group’s summit was to provide the American people with some comfort in knowing that a reliable and proven treatment was indeed, in their opinion, currently available.
Dr. Gold said, “We’re here because we feel as though the American people have not heard from all the expertise that’s out there, all across our country. Returning to the case of Prof. Risch, readers would be well regarded in having doubts about his continued tenure at Yale. All we can say is that it would be a crying shame if one of the world’s leading experts was ‘cancelled’ for telling the truth, about something which, accordingly to his experience and knowledge, has the ability to save thousands of lives. We wonder if a news institution such as Newsweek is subject to the whims of the social media giants, and will have their support of Prof Risch cause the downfall of some poor Editor, silly enough to post such troublesome opinion. One of the most concerning excerpts from Prof. Risch’s piece for Newsweek is: Physicians who have been using these medications in the face of widespread skepticism have been truly heroic. They have done what the science shows is best for their patients, often at great personal risk. I myself know of two doctors who have saved the lives of hundreds of patients with these medications, but are now fighting state medical boards to save their licenses and reputations. The cases against them are completely without scientific merit.”
The most perplexing element of this entire ‘Hydroxychloroquine saga’ is the total and absolute politicization of it, particularly within the United States. Many will recall US President Trump’s support for the medication during the early stages of the pandemic’s outbreak. His support was met with an inordinate and disproportionate amount of ‘medical rebuttal’, including a report from the (once) highly regarded medical journal ‘The Lancet’ being forced to completely retract their supposedly well researched position that President Trump’s favorite medicine was indeed deadly. (We paraphrase, but you get the idea!)
The fact that many US governors (almost exclusively Democrat Governors) have been outright banning the use of Hydroxychloroquine is perplexing at best, although considering that they will be relying on “expert advice” of people such as the all-powerful Dr Fauci, they’ll have a legally sound cover, regardless of the fact that the drug has, accordingly to many medical professionals found to be highly effective in early stage infection treatment. Ahead of the November election, cynics argue that Democrat states are actively trying to prolong the infection’s foothold, increase the death-count and extend lock-downs as a political measure to weaken Trump’s reelection chances.
In Australia, the Federal Government’s Health Minister, Mr Greg Hunt has advised “I have just come off a call with a supplier and I am confident we will have a significant supply of hydroxychloroquine if doctor wish to use them with patients who are in hospital,” Although it does seem to be a positive and proactive step, we do wonder, in the face of purported evidence showing that early-stage treatment with the drug is most effective, why the government would stipulate the availability to “patients who are in hospital”. Surely, logic would suggest that doctors are given the freedom to administer the drug to any patient who presents with a confirmed COVID-19 case, regardless of hospitalisation. Last we checked, the whole reason for locking down the entire world economy was to ensure that the hospital system wasn’t overloaded? Something, as usual, doesn’t stack up. Read more…..
